Pr. Joe has been in ministry for several years(true story, name changed). He leads 8 vibrant rural churches and a team of several Christian workers eager to advance the Gospel. However, Pr. Joe has never had any kind of formal theological or ministry training in his life. Although it sounds surprising, this is the case for most pastors and leaders in rural NE Brazil. Through the generosity of our partners, Pr. Joe received a scholarship to attend a reputable theological school and will be able to increase his effectiveness as a Minister of the Gospel. In NE Brazil, most of the church leaders lack the resources to acquire formal Christian Education. The vast majority of pastors in the rural areas have little to no formal training in Ministry. It is part of our vision to sponsor scholarships to help educate these man and women of God so they can be more effective in their work of ministry. Like Pr. Joe there are thousands of Christian leaders in the same circumstance. The costs for a Bachelor degree in Theology is $500 a year for a period of 3 years.
